September 3rd –> December 10th 2023
In “honor” of the blog being a year old, I’ve decided to do these little roundups every so often, starting in September of last year. Here are my Top 2 songs of every artist I covered from September 3rd to December 10th of 2023, along with my thoughts on who was most overrated, which review made me shed a couple tears, and what idol stood out from the rest. Featured artists in the thumbnail, L-R, Top: TXT, Dreamcatcher; Bottom: Purple Kiss, Taemin (SHINee, SuperM)

Featured Artists: (G)I-DLE, The Kingdom, LOONA, NCT Dream, Gfriend, The Rose, Sunmi, BTS, Purple Kiss, Taemin, Billlie, OnlyOneOf, Red Velvet, TXT, Dreamcatcher, WINNER, WJSN
Range: The oldest group here is WINNER (Gen 2), who debuted in 2013, and the newest is Billlie (Gen 4), who debuted in 2021.
Favorite Artist: Dreamcatcher. I knew I would love them going in, given that I was already a huge fan. But I couldn’t find a single song that I disliked here; they earned that perfect score twice over.
Favorite Soloist: Sunmi . I was a casual fan before my review, but I came out of it a full-fledged Miyane, and eagerly awaiting her next comeback.
Least Favorite Artist: WINNER. This was the first time I’d given a group such a bad review, and I actually felt a bit bad about it.
Biggest Surprise: TXT. I became a fan through this review and even went to see them in concert with my cousin! I keep meaning to write my review…and I keep forgetting.
Underrated Group: Purple Kiss. They’re getting more attention now, for sure, especially with their tour, but their albums are so solid and they’ve got this great, quirky sense of humor that’s really refreshing.
Overrated Group: BTS. I know, I know, someone’s going to appear at my doorstep with a machete for this, but really…whatever caused the hype, I just didn’t get it.
Top 5 Hidden Gems:
- Wheel Of The Year by Gfriend
- Because by OnlyOneOf
- Dear Sputnik by TXT
- Promise (Song Of Dann) by Kingdom
- Peter Pan by (G)I-DLE
Stand-Out Idol: NCT Dream’s Haechan. I fell in love with his voice and his sense of humor, and he’s now my favorite in all of NCT.
Review That Made Me Cry: Gfriend. I’ve always been a fan but I didn’t expect their music to hit me like that. When I listened to Walpurgis Night, I got a bit misty eyed.

Thanks for tuning in to our roundup! Tschüss and see you next time!
