Hi there! I’m Anna!
I’ve been a k-pop fan since about 2018 (and an overall fan of music even longer.) So, I decided in 2023 that I wanted to kill three birds with one stone: keep myself from getting bored at my new desk job, explore the discographies of groups I didn’t know much about, and talk with other people who love the genre as much as I do. I started on Tumblr, but then moved my older posts here in February of 2024 for a better format. You can still find me on Tumblr (@married-2-the-music) for some lukewarm takes bestowed on the world when I was half-asleep, but if you’d prefer something more thought out, this blog is where I’ll post essay-length deep dives a few times a week or so, each time exploring a different group.
You may have realized, if you’ve been around a while, that whenever a group I’ve already covered returns, I edit my deep dives and repost them on social media; this is both to reach a wider audience and because my opinion often evolves, as I keep going. I hope you enjoy! Feel free to contact me, give a suggestion, or just let me know your thoughts.
I also am starting to cover artists not in the k-pop industry as well, from all over the world and in a variety of genres, to spotlight music in different languages, which often goes ignored in a broader pop context.
