This Week In K-pop:

Last week, as mentioned, we had an absolute flood of new music, with six comebacks on one day, including ITZY, Kiss Of Life, QWER, and NCT’s Doyoung. Besides that, there was DAYCHILD, XLOV, ATEEZ, LOONA’s ARTMS, and Solar of Mamamoo, among others.

This week is also very full. Today, Monday, there’s girl group ILLIT (of Magnetic fame), soloist Kang Daniel, and newer boy groups XONIK and DIGNITY. Tomorrow there’s Yugyeom of GOT7 and Moonbyul of MAMAMOO andWednesday there’s Stray Kids and Hearts2Hearts. Later in the week, there’s soloists Yook Sungjae and Nina and Omega X subunit OX:N.

Next week, we have comebacks from CRAVITY, Le Sserafim, Fromis_9, H1-KEY, Aespa, and KATSEYE, as well as the debut of girl group Baby DONT Cry, soloists 2PM’s Jang Wooyoung and JINSOL, and ALLDAY PROJECT and POW.

This Week’s Spotlight:

I decided that in these weekly posts, I’m going to choose a random song to spotlight as well, especially if its group is now inactive or rarely comes back. This week is My Copycat by Orange Caramel. Though they’re probably best known for kpop classic Catellena and the recently viral Shanghai Romance, I went with their final single My Copycat because I feel like it’s one of their more underrated. With a irrepressibly catchy jazzy beat underscoring it and an overall tone of fun and whimsy, it’s hard not to find yourself moving along. Its music video, in true Orange Caramel fashion, also has a fun split-screen encouraging the audience to “spot the difference”. It’s one hell of a fun time, that’s for sure.

That’s all for this week! Which comeback are you most excited for? Let me know in the comments. See you soon & Tschüss!

Let me know your thoughts!
