This Week In K-pop:
Last week, we had FIVE (yes, five) comebacks on the same day, I-DLE, RIIZE, Baekhyun, Kim Jaejoong, and VVS, but almost nothing for the rest of the week.
This week, it’s a bit more “usual”. Today, Monday, there’s SEVENTEEN coming back for their 10th anniversary, new girl group KickFlip, and Red Velvet subunit Irene & Seulgi. Tomorrow, Tuesday, there’s Lee Mujin (of Lee Mujin Service) and of course soloist IU with her third remake EP. Wednesday there’s another long-awaited subunit in Dreamcatcher’s UAU and also band N.Flying and BB Girls (aka Brave Girls). Later in the week we have soloist B.I. of iKon, the solo debut of Hwanwoong from ONEUS, and newer boy group I1IT.
Next week, we have ENHYPEN, the debut of boy group USPEER, girl groups ITZY, QWER, and Kiss Of Life, NCT soloist Doyoung, and soloist DayChild.
This Week’s Spotlight:
I decided that in these weekly posts, I’m going to choose a random song to spotlight as well, especially if its group is now inactive or rarely comes back. This week, I chose Dracula by F(x). I’ve talked ad nauseam on this blog about how I feel like F(x)’s Pink Tape album overshadows their Red Light one, which I think is one of the greatest kpop albums of all time. Dracula is proof of that, being experimental, dramatic, and just all around weird, with its thriller-esque screaming, EDM background, and its great vocals. It’s worth checking out, that’s for sure.
That’s all for this week! See you soon! Tschüss!
