My personal favorite reviews; either the most meaningful, most emotional, or just the most fun! If you want a place to discover who I am and what I’m about, there’s no better place than here. Welcome!

You’re Wrong About K-pop (Article)
Actually an article I wrote while in high school, You’re Wrong About K-pop is, in my (not at all humble) opinion, the most comprehensive debunking of common misconceptions about k-pop.

Lee Hyori Deep Dive #2/2: K-pop’s Greatest Soloist?
Another artist I knew nothing about before my deep dive, Hyori really surprised me. It was amazing to see her journey from an over sexualized teenage girl to a fully grown woman making the music she always wanted to.

KARA’s Goo Hara: A Special Post
Not a discography review, but a tribute to Goo Hara of KARA, who died far too young. I wanted to shine a light on mental health awareness and sexual assault in the wake of the Moon Taeil news, and decided that I would give Hara the flowers she deserved but never got.

TXT: Act Promise Concert Review
The third k-pop concert I went to, accompanied by my favorite (not-so-) little cousin, TXT put on an amazing show for two and a half hours, and remain one of our favorite memories.

(G)I-DLE Deep Dive #2/2: Breaking Boundaries In The Industry
In an industry that often prefers to keep quiet in the face of issues like misogyny, sexualization, and abuse against women, (G)I-DLE’s clever, self-produced songs are truly one of a kind.

BigBang Deep Dive #2/2: In The Shadow Of Burning Sun
Quite possibly the most painful review I’ve ever written; reconciling BigBang’s immense impact on k-pop with the horrors of Burning Sun is a task beyond me, but heaven knows I tried.

Rosé Deep Dive: A Former Fan And A Girl With A Guitar
(coming Dec 6th!!)
One of my first ever biases in k-pop from her first years in Blackpink, this review was a wonderful walk down memory lane for me, and by the end, I just felt immeasurably proud of this girl I’d watched grow up.

A K-pop Fan’s Favorite Books (& Songs)
A much more lighthearted post than the others on this list, I took my Top 10 Books of all time and paired them each with three great k-pop songs, so that you could either get a recommendation for your TBR or your playlist.

eaJ Deep Dive: Not Your Typical Story Of A K-pop Soloist
Toeing the line of what’s “kpop” and not, eaJ (known as Jae Park when he was in Day6) really surprised me with his creative vision, his compassionate, self-effacing lyrics and his growth in the last few years.
