In “honor” of the blog being a year old, I’ve decided to do these little roundups every so often, starting in September of last year. Here are my Top 2 songs of every artist I covered from November 11th 2024 to January 25th 2025, along with my thoughts on who was most overrated, which review made me shed a couple tears, and what idol stood out from the rest. Range: The oldest group here was Seo Taiji & Boys (Gen 0), who debuted in 1992. The newest group was H1-KEY (Gen 5), who debuted in 2022. This is the biggest range I’ve had so far, and probably the biggest I’ll ever have, but hey, who knows? Maybe I’ll still be doing this blog in 2029.
Favorite Group: It’s actually a tie between Super Junior and Wonder Girls, which I wasn’t expecting! Both make great dance floor music, and funnily enough, my mother was my companion for both of these reviews.
Favorite Soloist: eaJ. Since leaving Day6, he’s created a catalogue full of great lyrics, sweeping emotion, and painful self-reckoning, and I’m so glad I got to experience it.
Least Favorite Artist: Babymonster. God, I felt genuinely bad about this one, just like with NMIXX. They’re so talented and those talents are just being wasted by YG with their Blackpink-the-sequel fantasy. Dream is still a fantastic song though.
Biggest Surprise: H1-KEY! I was expecting to give them something in the low 8’s but they surprised me with a solid 8.75 and I can’t wait for their next comeback!
Underrated Group: QWER! They’re a newly debuted girl group, but all the members have had online careers for a while. They have great songs and they play their own instruments; I’d highly recommend.
Overrated Group: Also Babymonster, but I’ll choose Weki Meki for this one. I think it’s another case of people building them up to a level that no one could really live up to, but I guess I was just…expecting something more?

Stand-Out Idol: CL from 2NE1, though I was reviewing her solo career here. Her music itself wasn’t always for me, but her stage presence is the stuff of legends and she’s just so charming that I added her to my list of favorite idols.
Review That Made Me Cry: Rosé. I’ve been Rosie’s fan since the golden days of Blackpink, and to see her successful and happy, making the kind of music she always wanted to, was just so heartwarming.
