Daily writing prompt
List three jobs you’d consider pursuing if money didn’t matter.

One of my answers to this question would be running a k-pop blog (the others, in order, a fiction writer and owner of a cat cafe), and then I thought, today, the : “isn’t this blog already kind of a full time job?”

And to tell the truth, it is. When I started Married To The Music, it was just supposed to be a once-in-a-while side…thing? to keep my brain occupied at my part time job. But, slowly but surely over the last year, it became so much more. It became a highlight of my day, an integral part of my life, and most importantly, a way to connect with people all around the world who love music as much as I do.

And beyond that, it helped shape me into who I am. I can now speak (very very basic) Korean and am slowly studying the alphabet, I met in-person friends at concerts and k-pop clubs, I discovered some of my absolute favorite bands, and I learned so much about the industry itself, about all its flaws, and about the people fighting tooth and nail to make it better.

Now, I probably spend ten hours a week on it, easily. And no, if you’re wondering, the amount I make from this blog isn’t enough to “justify” that kind of time commitment in the eyes of people who only have dollar signs in theirs. But frankly, I don’t care. I genuinely adore this little passion project of mine, and I’m starting to see that other people adore it too. MTTM is my baby, and I wouldn’t trade her for anything.

I don’t know how long my blog will last—likely the length of my tenure in college—but whether it will continue beyond that, I honestly have no idea. Either way, thank you so much for all your support on my little rambles for the last year, and I hope you keep reading!

Danke schön und Tschüss!
