In “honor” of the blog being a year old, I’ve decided to do these little roundups every so often, starting in September of last year. Here are my Top 2 songs of every artist I covered from May 13th to June 21st of 2024, along with my thoughts on who was most overrated, which review made me shed a couple tears, and what idol stood out from the rest. Featured Artists: Seventeen, BG Solos 1*, New Jeans, NMIXX, ZeroBaseOne, aespa, TREASURE, WayV, SHINee, Oh My Girl, EVERGLOW, INFINITE, CIX, F(x), Lee Hyori
*Soloists Featured in BG Solos 1: Choi Minho, Taeyong, B.I., Kai, Ten, BamBam, V, Jae / eaJ, Woosung, and Cha Eunwoo
Range: the oldest group here is actually a soloist, Lee Hyori (Gen 1), who debuted in 2003, and the newest is ZeroBaseOne (Gen 5), who debuted in 2023.
Favorite Group: SHINee. I mean, is anyone surprised? This blog is called Married To The Music after all. I didn’t think it was possible to love SHINee more, but here we are. This was only the second 10/10 I’ve given out.
Favorite Soloist: EaJ. Formerly from Day6, EaJ (Jae Park) now has a solo career in English, and I was very impressed with his writing.
Least Favorite Artist: NMIXX. I felt bad, to be honest, but most of their songs drive me up the walls. Why can’t they make another Run For Roses?
Biggest Surprise: Lee Hyori. I knew only one song before this review, but by the end, I was absolutely a fan. She’s such a talented artist, and her albums are consistently great.
Underrated Group: Oh My Girl. Maybe not as underrated as the other groups included in this category, but compared to their 3rd gen girl group counterparts, they don’t get nearly the amount of attention they deserve.
Overrated Group: New Jeans. Definitely a case of “not for me”. Their music is fine, but it’s all pretty radio-friendly and subdued, which isn’t my thing.

Stand-Out Idol: Ten from WayV / NCT. He’s really an all-rounder and an especially impressive dancer, and I’m glad he’s begun a solo career.
Review That Made Me Cry: F(x) I’ve long been a fan of Sulli, but going deeper into her as a person and her artistry for this review really made me emotional.
