June 29th –> August 31st 2024
In “honor” of the blog being a year old, I’ve decided to do these little roundups every so often, starting in September of last year. Here are my Top 2 songs of every artist I covered from June 29th to August 31st of 2024, along with my thoughts on who was most overrated, which review made me shed a couple tears, and what idol stood out from the rest. Featured artists in the thumbnail, L-R, Top: Stray Kids, Le Sserafim; Bottom: IU, Xdinary Heroes

Featured Artists: Got7, Orange Caramel, Xikers, F(x), Stray Kids, Gugudan, KARA, Choi Yena, IU, Xdinary Heroes, P1Harmony, Le Sserafim, KARD, IZ*ONE, GG Solos 2*
*Soloists Featured in GG Solos 2: Yuqi, Seulgi, Jihyo, Yuju, Solar, Sulli, Hyoyeon, Lisa, Jeon Somi, Huh Yunjin
Range: The oldest group was, again, actually a soloist, IU (Gen 2), who debuted in 2008, and the newest group was Le Sserafim (Gen 5), who debuted in 2022.
Favorite Group: Stray Kids. They were actually one of the first groups I liked in k-pop, and this review was such a fun walk down memory lane.
Favorite Soloist: IU. She’s so talented, and it was incredible watching her journey from newbie singer to the well-established, confident woman we know and love today.
Least Favorite Artist: Xikers has a lot of great ideas, and came close to living up to them, but so many of their songs are just too harsh on the ears for me to like them.
Biggest Surprise: Le Sserafim. I’d only heard a couple of their songs before this, but I didn’t expect to become such a fan through my review, and now I’d like to see them in concert one day!
Underrated Group: Xdinary Heroes. They’re a great band, despite a bit of a rocky start, and I really enjoyed their music. Definitely give their b-sides a listen.
Overrated Group: IZ*ONE. Part of this is the fact that they’re treated like the second coming of Christ, but I just didn’t get into them at all.
Top 5 Songs:
- Not By The Moon by Got7
- Love Wins All by IU
- Do Or Die by Xikers
- Damn U by Yena
- Dead Man Running by Seulgi
Stand-Out Idol: Sulli. I’ve talked about her before, but she’ll always have a special place in my heart and it’s devastating that we lost her so young.
Review That Made Me Cry: KARA. Not only because of Goo Hara herself, even though that was part of it, but the bigger problems of online hate and blame cast on survivors that are still huge issues five years on.

Thanks for tuning in to our roundup! Tschüss and see you next time!
