In “honor” of the blog being a year old, I’ve decided to do these little roundups every so often, starting in September of last year. Here are my Top 2 songs of every artist I covered from March 28th to May 8th of 2024, along with my thoughts on who was most overrated, which review made me shed a couple tears, and what idol stood out from the rest. Featured Artists: EXID, iKon, TWICE, BLACKPINK, ENHYPEN, IVE, LOONA (re-do), ONEWE, ASTRO, GG Solos #1*, The Kingdom (re-do), AOA, ViViZ, VAV, Kep1er
*Soloists Featured in GG Solos #1: Jeon Soyeon, Wendy, Rosé, YooA, Hwasa, Tiffany Young, Kei, Yerin, Nayeon, and Chuu
Range: the oldest group here is EXID (Gen 2), who debuted in 2012, and the newest is Kep1er (Gen 4), who debuted in 2022.
Favorite Group: TWICE. When it comes to consistency and just fun, they’re almost impossible to beat. This was my first four-parter!
Favorite Soloist: Wendy. The inspiration for my soloist rankings, her voice is one in a million.
Least Favorite Artist: IVE. Not out of any fault of their own, but none of their music really felt unique or hit me.
Biggest Surprise: iKon. I’m not usually a hip-hop or “powerful” boy group person, but on the whole, I really liked iKon’s music.
Underrated Group: ONEWE. I knew nothing about them before my review, but they’re a full-blown band and make such great rock ballads. Check them out!
Overrated Group: BLACKPINK was the first k-pop group I was ever a fan of, and though it hurts, I’ve really disliked their latest music.

Stand-Out Idol: Chuu from LOONA. Not only does she have a great voice and a delightful personality, but she jumpstarted the whole boycott and became a symbol for fairness in the industry.
Review That Made Me Cry: Also BLACKPINK. See above, but realizing that they’re likely never going to be the group I thought they were was a pretty sad realization.
